ARDAL LEAGUE COMMITTEE

Viv Edwards – Ardal Southern Chairman – Involved in Football Management for over 30 years. Long association with Newport YMCA which began in the late eighties. Chairman for 28 years during which assumed many roles with stints as Secretary, Treasurer, Physio, Ground Maintenance, Line marking. During this time YMCA reached the semi finals and quarter finals of the Welsh Cup, very rewarding and exciting times. Represented the Senior Clubs on the Gwent County FA, while also a Club representative on the Welsh League Management Committee from 2013-20 and an FAW Council Member since 2012.

Martin Price – Ardal Southern Secretary – Started in football helping his sons Junior Team and joined Abertillery Bluebirds in 1996 as First Team Manager, before moving to the position of Club Secretary in 2000, when the club won promotion to the Gwent County League. After 15 years in the role, joined the Welsh League Management Committee in 2015 as Fixture Secretary, before taking on the position of Secretary in 2019 following the retirement of Ken Tucker. An FAW Council Member since 2019. Has a lifelong love of Cardiff City thanks to his father, while also has a big passion for live music.

Andrew George – Ardal Southern Treasurer – Involved in Youth Football for 15 years since his son started playing for Caerleon Junior Youth Football Club (CJYFC). Became Team Manager throughout various age groups, culminating in winning the Under 16 Cup. CJYFC Treasurer for over 10 years and was also Interim Chairman for a short period. CJYFC is one of the largest youth organisations in Wales with over 300 players registered, with mini football from ages 7-11 and 11 a side from ages 12 to 16. Qualified accountant, with over 30 years’ experience working in a finance environment across a spectrum of sectors. 

Lee James – Ardal Southern Referees Officer – Played football for Kilvey Athletic in the Swansea League and Clydach in the Welsh League before becoming a match official, starting off in the Swansea Senior League in 1999. Reached Welsh Premier List in 2006. Refereed West Wales Intermediate and Senior Cup Finals as well as numerous Victory Shield Internationals. Fourth Official in a FAW Amateur Trophy Cup Final. Welsh League Management Committee from 2013-20 initially as Assistant when Idwal Williams retired, then as Appointments Secretary when John Harris retired. FAW Council Member since 2018.

Neil Dymock – Ardal Southern Media Officer – Played football for Dafen Welfare, Evans & Williams Sports and Llanelli Steel and has been involved in football administration for over 25 years. Former roles include being Secretary at both Evans & Williams and Llanelli Town. Has also produced programmes for Bryntirion Athletic and Cwmamman United. Club representative on the Welsh League Management Committee from 2014-20 and an FAW Council Member since 2016. Other roles in football include being a Trustee of Wales Football Supporters Charity Gol and Manager of the Wales Football Supporters Team since 2003.
