Cefn Cribwr v Swansea University

This week two of our Ardal Southern South West clubs, Cefn Cribwr and Swansea University contest the third ever Floodlighting & Electrical Ardal Southern League Cup. Both league encounters have been tight, Swansea University winning 2-1 at the King George V New Field, back in September and Cefn Cribwr winning 3-1 just two weeks ago at the Swansea University Playing Fields.

This will be the third ever Ardal Southern League Cup, the first in 2022, was won by Trethomas Bluebirds 1-0 against Cardiff Draconians at Penydarren Park in Merthyr, thanks to a goal from Alfie Jones on 73 minutes in front of a crowd of 324. While last season Cefn Cribwr won another tight encounter 1-0 at the SDM Glass Stadium in Penybont again 1-0 thanks to a goal from Danny Woolfenden on 72 minutes in front of a crowd of 711.

Cefn Cribwr v Blaenavon Blues

Saturday 11th March 2023, King George V New Field, Clydach Vale. Kick Off 2.00pm

This week sees us preview the Ardal Southern League Cup Quarter Final tie between Cefn Cribwr who are in 8^th place in the South West Division and Blaenavon Blues who are in 7^th place in the South East Division. The game takes place at the King George V New Field in Clydach Vale, where Cefn Cribwr ground share at the long-time home of Cambrian & Clydach Vale BGC, while their Cae Gof Recreation Ground is re-developed. Both clubs are new to the Ardal Southern League this season, Cefn Cribwr promoted as runners up in the South Wales Alliance Premier Division, while Blaenavon Blues promoted as runners up from the Gwent County Premier Division.
